The Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) is
federally sponsored program designed to recruit and assist disadvantaged
students, beginning with the Junior High School level through the
college associate degree level, to "learn and achieve success" in
a health care career. For more information
on this program, please click here.
Although HCOP is focused on disadvantaged youth, CHEC has developed
many similar programs to encourage all youth to explore health careers.
These programs include health care and technology exploratory activities
such as tours, summer camps, guest speakers, shadowing experiences,
health career seminars, etc.
